A recovery mentor/sober coach is not a therapist or a doctor. They are not a sponsor. They are a professional who will work with you to organize and prioritize the things you need to change.
A recovery mentor will call you on your crap. You call the shots, but if you get out of your lane, no goodness will come of it.
You have to set goals and reachable goals so you can monitor your progress in recovery. You will need to call upon new coping skills to make good decisions and prevent backsliding into dangerous and stupid situations.
A recovery mentor will encourage you to step outside your comfort zone, and be there for you when things get uncomfortable and you need support or a push in the right direction.
You are in charge of your recovery. You have to practice new behaviors in order to make lasting change. You are ultimately responsible for your success or failure.

As recovery mentor will help you navigate early recovery. Together we will examine what you want your life to look like, what your current challenges are, how to set goals, and how to enact positive change that will last.
You will develop stress management and relapse prevention plans to help you get through the times where compulsions and urges threaten your recovery.

How am I qualified to help you? I am a former alcoholic and addict with 20+ years experience drinking, drugging, and blowing up my life. Been there, done that, not surprised by anything you have to say.
Now, I have 10 years clean and sober. No-one expected me to pull this off! I went back to school twice, and use my education and experience to help other people struggling in recovery.
